Nun hat die Weltgesundheitsorganisation den globalen Gesundheitsnotstand ausgerufen. 2014 war der letzte globale Gesundheitsnotstand wegen der Ebola-Epidemie ausgerufen worden. Stehen uns nun \u00e4hnlich schlimme Entwicklungen bevor?<\/p>\n<p>Die WHO-Direktorin Margaret Chan erkl\u00e4rte, dass der Zusammenhang zwischen einer Sch\u00e4delfehlbildung, die bei Neugeborenen beobachtet werden konnte, und dem Zika-Virus weiterhin wahrscheinlich ist. Sowohl eine r\u00e4umliche als auch eine zeitliche Verbindung bestehen vor. Wissenschaftliche Beweise f\u00fcr diese Verbindung m\u00fcssen allerdings noch erbracht werden.<\/p>\n<h3>Entwicklung des Zika-Virus<\/h3>\n<p>Generell l\u00e4sst sich aber die vermehrte und zum Teil aggressive Ausbreitung des Virus beobachten, die nach einer internationalen Antwort verlangt. Die Produktion eines Impfstoffes ist daher unabdingbar. Das Zika-Virus wird den aktuellen Informationen nach von der \u00c4gyptischen und der Asiatischen Tigerm\u00fccke \u00fcbertragen. Fehlbildungen bei Neugeborenen treten aktuell in S\u00fcd- und Mittelamerika auf. Generell scheint das Virus nicht gef\u00e4hrlich zu sein, bei Neugeborenen kann es allerdings zu der erw\u00e4hnten Fehlbildung f\u00fchren. Aktuell sind die folgenden L\u00e4nder von der Virus-Infektion betroffen: Nordamerika sowie L\u00e4nder in Afrika, Asien und im westpazifischen Raum. Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation bef\u00fcrchtet dar\u00fcber hinaus, dass aufgrund der Wettersituation rund um El Nino die Ausbreitung der M\u00fccken und somit auch des Virus noch weiter voranschreiten wird.<\/p>\n<p>Der globale Gesundheitsnotstand betrifft auch deshalb andere L\u00e4nder, weil diese nun aufgefordert werden k\u00f6nnen Ma\u00dfnahmen gegen die weitere Verbreitung des Erregers zu ergreifen.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201eHistorie\u201c des Zika-Virus<\/h3>\n<p>Das Zika-Virus ist erstmals im Jahr 1947 bei einem Affen aus dem Zikawald in Afrika beobachtet worden. In der Folge trat es immer mal wieder vereinzelt in anderen L\u00e4ndern, beispielsweise in Asien, auf. Experten vermuten, dass das Virus w\u00e4hrend der Fu\u00dfball Weltmeisterschaft im Jahr 2014, die in Brasilien stattfand, auch nach Europa gebracht wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Da es bislang noch keine Medikamente oder einen geeigneten Impfstoff gegen das Zika-Virus gibt, empfehlen Mediziner und Gesundheitswissenschaftler sich vor allem generell vor M\u00fcckenstichen zu sch\u00fctzen, weshalb sich M\u00fcckensprays anbieten.
